There are many ways you can get involved in the fight against fracking (high volume hydraulic fracturing).
Get active – We always need people to help out with events, actions and campaigning. Follow us on Facebook to keep up-to-date with news and events. If you want to get more involved, please come along to our monthly meeting held on the first Tuesday of each month at 7.30pm at the Central United Reformed Church.
If you live near but outside of Sheffield, there are a growing number of local anti-fracking groups, so there’s a good chance there’s one near you. If not, why not start one? We’d be glad to help.
Make a stand – We support non violent direct action (NVDA) and will from time to time call for feet on the ground to get our voices heard, either in our local area or to support other communities under threat.
Share – If you’re not able to come along to any of our events, you can help spread the message by sharing news and events on social media.
Object – Object to fracking applications (anyone can object – you don’t have to live in the area under threat). See Frack Off’s list of current fracking applications.
Sign – There are a number of petitions you can sign, such as Friends of the Earth’s petition against fracking in the UK.
Write – Ask your MP to say no to fracking! Find out who your MP is and send them a message at TheyWorkForYou.com
